Desert and Atlas Motorcycle Tour

Nine days based out of Marrakesh, seven of them in the saddle, on a loop that trades the High Atlas for the Middle Atlas cedar belt before dropping to the edge of the Sahara. Riding days run roughly 125 to 280 km and are almost entirely sealed, with only a token stretch of optional gravel. The route takes in the lake at Bin El Ouidane and the Ouzoud falls, the forests around Azrou and their Barbary apes, the old Foreign Legion tunnel on the run down to Errachidia, and the dunes at Merzouga, where the night is spent in a desert camp. Homeward legs link the Todra and Dades valleys, the kasbah at Ait Benhaddou and the 2,260 m Tichka pass. Wheels of Morocco run it with a guide on a bike, hotel accommodation, a luggage vehicle once five riders sign on, and a fleet spanning KTM 390 to BMW GS.

Trails of the Sahara and Beyond: The Ultimate Moroccan Off-Road Adventure

Nine days, six of them riding, on a big-bike off-road loop from Marrakesh down the Anti-Atlas and along the Atlantic. Roughly 60 per cent of the route is trail, gravel and sand and 40 per cent tarmac, and Wheels of Morocco are blunt that solid off-road experience on a loaded adventure bike is a condition of joining. The line runs over the Tizi n'Test pass to Taroudant, past the painted rocks near Tafraoute to Icht, across old rally tracks to Guelmim, then out onto the hard sand of Plage Blanche on the way to Agadir. A rest day on the coast breaks the week before the ride north to Essaouira on coastal twisties and single trails and the final leg back to Marrakesh over rocky ground and dry riverbeds. Days run about 220 to 270 km.

Sea and Sun Motorcycle Weekend in Morocco

A five-day, three-ride escape from Marrakesh to the Atlantic and back, built for people who can only get away for a long weekend. Day one is arrival and briefing; the riding starts with the run south-west over the Atlas foothills to Agadir, continues north up the coast to Essaouira through dunes and argan country, and finishes with a return leg across rocky farmland to Marrakesh. Wheels of Morocco rate the route as 100 per cent good tarmac, but the roads are narrow and twisty enough that they ask for experienced riders. Stops along the way include Sidi Kaouki, an argan oil cooperative and the UNESCO-listed medina at Essaouira, with an optional hike into Paradise Valley for anyone with energy left. Bikes run from the KTM 390 up to the BMW R 1250 GS, with hotels, dinners and airport transfers handled.

Fourteen days and eleven riding days on the most complete road loop Wheels of Morocco run: Marrakesh out to the Middle Atlas, down to the Sahara, west through the Anti-Atlas to the Atlantic and back. The route is entirely sealed and the operator pitches it at experienced riders happy with long days and constant corners, with stages between roughly 120 and 290 km. Highlights come in order rather than in a rush: the Ouzoud falls and the lake at Bin El Ouidane, a day trip into imperial Fes and its tanneries, cedar forests and the Foreign Legion tunnel, a desert camp at Merzouga, the Todra cliffs, a rest day at Boumalne Dades, saffron country at Tallouine, then Agadir, Essaouira and the plains back to Marrakesh. Hotels, dinners, guide and support vehicle are included.
