What the numbers say
- Of the 3 countries with enough tours to compare, Vietnam is the least expensive at a median of about $60 a day for one rider on a hired bike, and Morocco the most expensive at about $355 a day.
- In Vietnam the middle half of tours costs between about $50 and $105 a day. A typical tour there lasts 4.5 days, and the middle half of whole-tour prices runs from about $150 to $450.
- In Thailand the middle half of tours costs between about $240 and $300 a day. A typical tour there lasts 7.5 days, and the middle half of whole-tour prices runs from about $1,400 to $2,850.
- In Morocco the middle half of tours costs between about $290 and $425 a day. A typical tour there lasts 6 days, and the middle half of whole-tour prices runs from about $1,600 to $3,450.
- Prices in Vietnam vary a lot: a tour at the dearer end of the middle half costs about 2.3 times one at the cheaper end, so compare what each price includes (group size, support vehicle, hotels, meals) before comparing the number.
- Thailand has a narrow spread: most tours there sit within about a third of each other on price per day.
- A pillion passenger usually pays about 60% of the rider's price (the median across 17 tours from 8 operators in 6 countries that publish both prices).
- Where operators publish a single room supplement, it works out at a median of about $35 a night (30 tours from 10 operators).
- Difficulty makes little difference to price: moderate and hard tours both cost close to their country's median per day.
- In Thailand, where 9 tours publish their distance, the median works out at about $1.49 per kilometre ridden.

Too few tours to compare yet
We list priced tours in these countries too, but not yet 5 or more from at least 3 operators, so a median would mostly reflect one operator's prices. Their tour pages show each published price.

How we work this out
Source. Every active tour listed on Moto Mass, 140 listings on 7 November 2026. Listings are built from each operator's own public website, and the price is the headline price the operator publishes for one rider: usually a "from" price for the smallest bike, a shared room and regular season dates. Bigger bikes, single rooms and peak dates can cost more.
What counts. Guided multi-day tours from 2 to 30 days with a published price for a rider on their own (hired) bike. We leave out:
- No published price (price on request): 39
- Day rides (under 2 days): 7
- Price is for riding as a passenger behind a local rider ("easy rider"): 5
- Price quoted per person for a large group, not for one rider: 5
That leaves 84 comparable tours from 30 operators. A country gets its own row only with at least 5 comparable tours from at least 3 different operators, so no single operator decides a country's figure.
Price per day. The headline price divided by the number of tour days as the operator lists them, including arrival, departure and rest days. We report the median and the middle half (25th to 75th percentile) rather than the average, so one unusually cheap or expensive tour barely moves the figure. Each tour counts once, and we do not trim outliers.
Pillion and single rooms. Few operators publish these, so the figures are pooled across every comparable tour that does, in any country. The pillion share (about 60%) is the median of pillion price divided by rider price over 17 tours. The single room figure (about $35 a night) spreads each tour's single supplement over its nights (days minus one), over 30 tours.
Currency. Prices are converted to US dollars at the European Central Bank reference rates of 6 November 2026, fetched from Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev). VND is not published by the ECB, so we use a fixed rate checked on 5 November 2026. Operators price in their own currency, so the dollar figures move a little with exchange rates.
