About

Morocco Motorcycle Tours runs guided enduro trips through the southeastern desert on a fleet of KTM 450 EXC-F machines, working out of Merzouga, Ouarzazate, Errachidia and Marrakech. Every tour includes an experienced guide, a backup vehicle with a mechanic, fuel, motorcycle insurance, all meals and hotel or desert-camp accommodation, so riders turn up with their own gear and a licence and little else. Guides are first-aid certified, and the company lists mechanics, navigation and travel health among their skills. Departures need a minimum of two riders, all 18 or over, holding a full motorcycle licence and with real riding experience behind them: the routes cross sand, rock and dry riverbed, and daily stages typically run 150 to 250 kilometres.

4 Days Merzouga KTM Desert Tour

Merzouga, Morocco

Four days on KTM 450 EXC machines out of Merzouga, working the desert along the Algerian frontier on the kind of tracks the Paris-Dakar rally used to run. The route takes in the Erg Chebbi dunes, the Gnawa musicians of Khamlia, the oasis at Tisrdmine, the remote settlement of Ouzina, the abandoned Portuguese ruins that locals call the lost city of Oubahlou and the baryte mines at Tijekht, before finishing through Rissani, the original Alaouite capital. Departures run from 9am and need a minimum of two riders, all 18 or over with a full motorcycle licence and genuine off-road experience. The bike, fuel, insurance, all meals, three nights of accommodation, a guide and a support vehicle with a mechanic are included.

5 Days Motorcycle Tour from Merzouga to Zagora

Merzouga, Morocco

Five days on KTM 450 enduros running a loop from Merzouga out to Zagora and back, with daily stages generally between 150 and 250 kilometres. The route crosses the Erg Chebbi dunes, works through the Jbal Mdawar mountains and past Aferdou, whose shape gets it compared to a tajine, follows a stretch of the old Paris-Dakar rally route across the plains at Maader and Oumjran, and drops into the Draa valley for Nkob and its forty-five kasbahs before returning through Alnif and Rissani. Nights alternate between hotels and desert camps. Two riders minimum, 18 and over, full motorcycle licence and prior experience required. Bike, fuel, insurance, safety equipment, all meals and a support vehicle with a mechanic are all included.

7 Days Moto Tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga

Ouarzazate, Morocco

A week on KTM 450 enduros looping out of Ouarzazate, and the operator's most rounded itinerary: it opens with the film studios, Kasbah Taourirt and the UNESCO-listed ksar at Ait Benhaddou before any serious riding begins. From there the route works through the Skoura oases, Mount M'Goun, the Rose Valley, the Dades canyon and the Todra gorge, then out to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes, into the deep desert at Ouzina and M'harech near the Algerian frontier, past dinosaur fossils and copper mines to Zagora, and back up the Draa valley through the Anti-Atlas to close the loop. The operator rates it for intermediate to advanced riders and lists the surfaces plainly as paved road, gravel, sand and off-road. Minimum two riders, 18 and over. Six nights of accommodation, all meals, fuel, insurance, a guide, a support vehicle and a mechanic are included in the price.
