About

Thai Motorcycle Tours.com Co. Ltd has been running guided road tours in northern Thailand since 2004 from a base at Ban Hang Dong, about half a kilometre from the centre of Chiang Mai. Trips are led by Miles with Bpuk handling the support vehicle and the logistics, and the format is consistent across the range: a Saturday arrival, a Sunday safety induction and shakedown ride, then five days out on a loop before a Saturday departure. Prices are all-inclusive, covering meals, fuel, accommodation, entrance fees, airport transfers and VAT. The rental fleet is broad enough to suit most riders, spanning the Honda CL300, Rebel, Forza, CB300R, CB500X, ADV, Hornet and CB650R, the Royal Enfield 350, the Yamaha MT-07, the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 and 1050. Groups typically run from five to fifteen riders.

The Mae Hong Son Loop

Chiang Mai, Thailand

The operator's Tour A, an eight-day week built around the Mae Hong Son loop with a Saturday arrival at each end. Riders land, collect their bikes and eat together on day one, run a safety induction and a group-chosen day ride on the Sunday, then spend Monday to Friday on the loop itself through Pai, Mae Hong Son, Mae Sariang and Doi Inthanon. Riding days are moderate at 155 to 233 kilometres, which leaves room for waterfalls, hot springs, a geyser, cave rafting, Karen long neck villages, temple gardens and a boathouse lunch on the lake. The company quotes 1,984 bends on the way out and 2,070 on the return, courtesy of the Thai Highways Agency. The published price is 64,189 baht per person all-inclusive, with discounts of up to 25 per cent for groups above five riders.

Golden Triangle Loop

Chiang Mai, Thailand

The operator's easier week, described on its own site as Scenic Riding Heaven and built for riders who want less arduous mid-week days than the Mae Hong Son loop demands. The route runs Chiang Mai, Tha Ton, Mae Sai, the Golden Triangle and Chiang Rai, following the Myanmar border through lakes and mountain roads, with short crossings into Myanmar and Laos and a longtail speedboat on the Mekong. Attractions listed along the way include the largest cave system in Thailand, an elephant camp, a hillside of seven temples, the Three Tribes Village, the opium museum, temple ruins and tulip fields when they are in season. The week follows the standard shape: Saturday arrival, Sunday induction and group ride, Monday to Friday on the loop, Saturday departure. Published price is 64,189 baht per person all-inclusive.

The Nan Loop

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Tour C in the operator's range and the one it sells to sport riders: wide sweeping bends, very little traffic and, in its own words, knee sliders optional. The loop runs Chiang Mai to Phayao, on to Nan for two nights with a 491-kilometre day trip out from there, then Uttaradit and a fast return to Chiang Mai. There are a few sights along the way, ancient temple murals and a weaving village among them, but the operator is honest that the appeal is the roads themselves and how far they sit from anywhere tourists normally go. The bike list skews accordingly toward the Kawasaki Versys 650, Honda CB650R, Suzuki V-Strom 650 and 1050 and the Ducati Monster. Published price is 64,189 baht per person, all-inclusive of meals, fuel, rooms, entrance fees and transfers.
