A 13-day fully supported adventure motorcycle tour from Windhoek, Namibia to Cape Town, South Africa. The route is primarily ridden on well-maintained gravel roads combined with asphalt sections, making it suitable for a broad range of riding experience levels. The tour includes motorcycle rental, experienced local guidance, 4x4 support, luggage transport, mechanical assistance and replacement motorcycle capability. Accommodation is primarily in hotels, lodges, guesthouses and safari-style accommodation, with groups limited to a maximum of 12 riders.
Ride from Namibia’s capital all the way to Cape Town on an unforgettable 13-day motorcycle journey through two of Southern Africa’s most spectacular countries. Starting in Windhoek, the route crosses the Namib Desert and the towering dunes of Sossusvlei before continuing south through Lüderitz, the Fish River Canyon and the Orange River. After crossing into South Africa, the journey continues through Namaqualand, the Cederberg Mountains, Stellenbosch and the Cape Winelands before finishing beneath Table Mountain in Cape Town. Combining vast desert landscapes, remote gravel roads, mountain passes, Atlantic coastline, vineyards and some of Southern Africa’s most iconic destinations, this is a true cross-border adventure without requiring technical off-road riding.

320 km The motorcycle adventure begins heading southwest towards the Namib Desert. Cross the Spreetshoogte Pass for spectacular views over the desert before stopping at the remote Solitaire fuel station. Continue to Sesriem, gateway to Sossusvlei. Lodge accommodation. Breakfast and dinner included. Day 3: Sesriem to Sossusvlei to Beta 170 km An early start to experience sunrise among the enormous red dunes of Sossusvlei, some reaching approximately 300 metres. Motorcycles are not permitted inside this section of the national park, so the group continues into Sossusvlei in the support vehicle. After exploring the dunes, visit Sesriem Canyon before continuing along the Namib-Naukluft National Park towards Beta. Guesthouse accommodation. Breakfast and dinner included. Day 4: Beta to Lüderitz 330 km Ride south through expansive desert landscapes towards the Atlantic coast. Stop in the small town of Aus before continuing towards Lüderitz, passing historic railway stations along the way. Overnight at Kratzplatz Guesthouse. Breakfast and dinner included. Day 5: Lüderitz to Aus 200 km Visit Kolmanskop, the famous former diamond-mining town slowly being reclaimed by the Namib Desert. Continue along the coast to Diaz Point, named after Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias, before returning towards Aus. Guesthouse accommodation. Breakfast included. Dinner at Bahnhof Hotel at your own expense. Day 6: Aus to Fish River Canyon / Orange River 260 km Travel via Seeheim towards the Fish River Canyon, passing Naute Dam and extensive date plantations. In the afternoon, visit the immense Fish River Canyon and take time to experience its scale and isolation. Overnight at Canyon Roadhouse. Breakfast and dinner included. Day 7: Fish River Canyon to Oranjemund 300 km Follow a contrasting route alongside the Fish River before descending through a gorge towards Ai-Ais, with an opportunity to enjoy the warm spring water. Continue to the lush table-grape growing region along the Orange River, followed by approximately 180 km of winding road along the border river towards Oranjemund. Guesthouse accommodation. Breakfast and dinner included. Day 8: Oranjemund to Kamieskroon 305 km Cross the border into South Africa and follow the remote Atlantic coastal road towards Port Nolloth. After lunch, continue inland through Springbok and south towards Kamieskroon in the Northern Cape, an area particularly famous for its spectacular spring wildflowers. Guesthouse accommodation. Day 9: Kamieskroon to Klawer 230 km Continue south through the sparsely populated Northern Cape before leaving the asphalt for gravel roads towards Lutzville on the Olifants River. The landscape gradually changes as the route enters South Africa’s wine-growing regions. Follow the river and vineyards towards Klawer, with an opportunity to sample local wines in the evening. Day 10: Klawer to Cederberg 140 km A spectacular riding day following winding roads before entering the Cederberg Mountains near Clanwilliam. Narrow, twisting tracks lead into dramatic mountain scenery often compared with the European Dolomites. Guesthouse or safari-tent accommodation. Breakfast and dinner included. Day 11: Cederberg to Stellenbosch 230 km Descend from the Cederberg Mountains for a day filled with winding roads and mountain passes. Ride through the orchards around Ceres and through the dramatic Bainskloof Pass before continuing towards Stellenbosch and the famous Cape Winelands. Guesthouse accommodation. Breakfast included. Dinner at your own expense. Day 12: Stellenbosch to Cape Town 160 km The final riding day explores the Cape Peninsula. Visit Boulders Beach, famous for its African penguin colony, with an optional visit to Cape Point. Continue along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive before arriving in Cape Town beneath Table Mountain. Guesthouse accommodation. Breakfast included. Dinner at your own expense. Day 13: Cape Town End of the motorcycle tour. Continue with an extended stay in Cape Town or onward travel. Due to differing flight departure times, airport transfers are not included but can be arranged.
