Eastern Seaboard Tour

The Eastern Seaboard Tour is the overnight version of what Motorbike Madness does as a day ride, and it is the natural next step for anyone who enjoyed the Pattaya loop and wants a night away. It is two days, one night, graded beginner friendly, with groups of up to twenty riders and a Honda CB500X as the standard machine. It begins the way all the longer tours do, with a chauffeur transfer to the company facility, a full safety briefing, gear fitting and time on the onsite training course. From there the first day is the riding day: around a hundred kilometres of twisting road through villages, towns and temples to Amphoe Khao Chamao National Park, where waterfalls drop through the jungle into pools clear enough to swim in. Lunch is at a restaurant in the forest and the group continues to the coast, overnighting on the beachfront near Chanthaburi town with a dinner of ocean fish landed locally that day. Day two starts with breakfast on the beach and covers more ground. Historic Chanthaburi and the shrine of Somdej Phra Chao Taksin Maharat come first, then the southeastern coastal roads that wind round a succession of bays and headlands. The route turns inland to the Silver Lake area, riding the ring road around Big Buddha Mountain past vineyard viewpoints and the Tuscan style cafes that have grown up around them, with a stretch of off road jungle trail before the return to base camp and a chauffeur back to your hotel. This is one of the few Motorbike Madness tours where all meals are included, breakfasts, lunches and dinners alike, along with private room hotel accommodation, fuel, the guide, helmets and third party liability cover. Groups of four or more also get a support rider in addition to the lead guide. Alcohol, souvenirs and personal spending are excluded, and a refundable 20,000 baht damage deposit applies. Beyond the hundred kilometre figure for the first day's ride, the operator publishes no total distance.

Two days and one night take this Motorbike Madness route from Pattaya down the gulf coast to Chanthaburi and back. The first morning is spent at the base camp on the safety briefing, gear fitting and the onsite training course, and then the group rides what the operator describes as a hundred kilometres of twisting, winding road through villages, towns and temples to Amphoe Khao Chamao National Park, where jungle waterfalls fill natural swimming pools. Lunch is at a forest restaurant and the night is spent on the beach near Chanthaburi over a dinner of locally caught fish. Day two takes in historic Chanthaburi town and the shrine of King Taksin, then the coastal roads around bays and headlands before turning inland to Silver Lake, the Big Buddha Mountain ring road and some jungle trail.
