From there it is a series of long days, several of them between 269 and 279 km, through southern farmland, highland forest, the grassy Tambora savannah and a long stretch of northern coastline. Along the way there is a sunrise boat trip to swim with whale sharks near Labuan Jambu and a full rest day at a dive resort in Sape, with snorkelling, kayaking, village walks and optional diving or day trips to Komodo and Pink Beach. The return leg crosses back to Lombok by ferry and climbs to the mountain cabins at Sembalun before dropping to Senggigi. Riding is fully on-road at around 60 km/h, five to seven hours a day.
