5 Days Motorcycle Desert Adventure from Errachidia
Errachidia, Morocco
Overview
Where the operator's other itineraries are pitched at intermediate and advanced riders, this one is explicitly beginner-friendly, and the route is built to match: the terrain is mixed road and off-road rather than committed desert, and the guide adjusts the balance to the group. Five days, four nights, starting and finishing in Errachidia, with published distances of 180, 80, 210 and 170 kilometres across the four riding stages after the warm-up. It opens with orientation and a bike setup, then a leisurely ride through the Ziz Valley among the palm groves and Berber villages, with dinner and a route briefing at a local guesthouse in the evening. Day two runs south through the Ziz Valley proper, past the fossil shops of Erfoud and out into open desert, reaching Merzouga in time for sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes and a night in a desert riad. Day three is the desert day: an 80-kilometre loop through the black desert landscapes and fossil beds around Merzouga, with a stop at Khamlia for Gnawa music, a visit to a nomadic family and a ride out to the M'fis mines. It ends with a camel ride and a night in a luxury desert camp with live music. Day four is the long one, 210 kilometres through the ancient souks of Rissani and north across the plateaux to the Todra gorge, where the canyon walls rise 300 metres above the road, with a night in a traditional kasbah hotel. Day five returns to Errachidia through the mountain passes and oases. Included: airport or hotel transfers in Errachidia, five days of motorcycle rental with fuel, a professional local guide and a support vehicle, four nights across guesthouses, riads and the desert camp, breakfast and dinner daily, and the sunset camel ride at Merzouga. Excluded: flights, midday meals, drinks and snacks, personal riding gear, which can be rented, travel insurance, the damage deposit, tips and personal expenses. As with everything on this operator's site, no price is published. Quotes are given individually by WhatsApp or email once the itinerary has been discussed.
